18/02/2011 - IMCOAST discussions in Jubany
An on site small brain storming workshop was held on a stormy afternoon in the Jubany Main Building. Imcoast and Jubany scientists discussed their ongoing work and the state of the investigations and data collection.
As always on such occasions new questions were brought up mainly concerning the sources of freshwater that enters the cove as subterraneal or superficial run-offs, or with respect to the carbon accumulation from macroalgae or other origin in Potter Cove and around Jubany that eutrophicate the coastal sediments to an unexpected degree for Antarctic coastal areas. Everybody was engaged in our discussions held in "spanglish", the idioma we all speak most fluently and like so much!
